I entered 2016 in Dallas, Texas completely sober and caring for a stranger. I unfortunately had to work last year. My friend in Dallas picked me up and we did a little bar hopping. His friend came with us and this girl could not handle her liquor. By the end of the night she was falling over and I was holding her up. Why am I a decent person? I ended up taking her with me back to my hotel because my friend wanted to go home with a guy.
Needless to say, last new years eve wasn’t that great. This year I am ending my year in my hometown with good people. My year started off bad and is ending pretty good. Seems the opposite of most people. Let’s see if I can recall what I learned this year, or at least positive things to mention.
+ Being alone is underrated.
+ Some fights aren’t worth it.
+ There are still generous people in this world.
+ My family isn’t so bad
+ I need to get less upset over things, whether in or out of my control.
+ Self-care and self-love are important and should be a priority.
+ Bourbon is forever.
2017, I am ready for you.
